A Mother of a Day

Oh friends, where to begin on this... the mother of all Mother's Days?  It was filled with all sorts of merriment and excitement and through no lack of effort on anyone's part ended up with me stripping puke covered clothes off myself not 1, not 2, but three times.  Them's the makings of a good story.  Too bad I'm too tired to tell it really well.  Still, I will try my best - this is, after all, for posterity.

A bow or two...

It's a lovely rite of passage when your daughters decide that they will do YOUR hair, instead of you doing theirs... and boy {bow} howdy were they excited about this!  They went through their hair box very carefully, selecting each and every clip-able bow - and then they completely adorned the top of my head with them.  I'm not going to lie - I think I look pretty radical here.

...Bring May Flowers

They all arrived a few weeks early, coaxed into spring by our unusually mild winter.  The April showers were sparse and light, but May first brought with it a splendid array of flowers in our little garden.  After dinner, the girls, daddy and I took a tour of the yard.  The girls helped me snap these pictures.

Movie Night

The girls favorite treat continues to be Movie Night with a big bowl of daddy’s popcorn.  We all snuggle together on the couch (girls legs - mommy included - covered in blankets).  Sometimes we paint nails first for a real treat - other times just the snuggles and movie is treat enough.  Today was a bit of an anomaly - in that movie nights generally occur on a Friday or Saturday, definitely not a Tuesday.

The sun is shining... all sorts of spring holidays are approaching, but what’s a gal to wear?!  Yes Emma, Belle and I had a serious discussion about our spring accessories where in we planned a series of small crafties to make our winter wardrobes pop.  It went a little something like this: {hit it}

The Kingdom Dance

 Seriously Cute Disclaimer:  VIDEO COMING SOON {as soon as I get to it }
This may have been one of the cuter things I’ve witnessed in a long time.  The girls are pretty much in love with Tangled {Rapunzle} right now... they ask me to play the songs over and over as they act out what happens at that particular time in the movie.  Tonight it was the Kingdom Dance.  Over and Over...  I played it and they danced.

The Salon

This winter we ended up falling into a bit of a weekly beauty ritual.  It started as the weather grew colder and we were reluctant to put the girls to bed with wet heads.  This had less to do with the wet heads = sickness factor and more to do with the moldy pillow and bizarre hair-do factor.  The girls would wake up in the morning with matted cowlick accentuated nests that took 10 minutes to undo every morning.  On the PreSchool days these were minutes we just didn’t have... And so we started putting the time in at night!
